Cindy

Cindy Hunter is the Director of Traditional Music at First United Methodist Church, Missouri City, and previously served as organist and pianist at Pearland First United Methodist Church. She has held similar church positions as Director of Music, Choir Director, Bell Director, or organist/pianist in Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan, and has been involved in music ministry for more than five decades. In addition, Cindy is a retired middle school and high school choral music educator and holds a Bachelor degree in Music Education from Monmouth College, in Monmouth, Illinois, and a Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Currently, she is a collaborative pianist in numerous Houston area school districts, and prior to moving to Houston, taught in the Musical Theatre Department and was a collaborative pianist in the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music, both at Western Michigan University. She is a sought after theatre music director and pianist, having taught music and conducted over 80 musicals at the professional, collegiate, community, high school, and middle school levels. 

 

Cindy is very excited to collaborate in planning and implementing a wide range of choral music as part of meaningful worship at FUMC-MC!
