First United Methodist Church Missouri City
"Where Faith Meets Life"
OPEN HEARTS. OPEN MINDS. OPEN DOORS.

How We Worship.

The 8:30 a.m. chapel service is a traditional service featuring familiar hymns and songs of the faith in a simple style. Special music is provided by a small choir and other vocal groups.

Open Skies is strong on community building, is supported by a band and utilizes media to assist in conveying the message for the day. It is a high-energy service. Click here for more information.

The 9:45 a.m. service benefits from the beauty of the chapel setting. It has a country church intimacy with all the resources of a strong, growing suburban church.

The 11:00 a.m. service invites worshippers to enjoy the music of the Chancel Choir. This service is well-characterized as progressive/traditional in that our worship team makes this service vital by using innovative resources applied in a traditional worship setting.

Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month in every worship service and at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday in the Sanctuary. This sacrament enriches the worship experience of those for whom this was an honored tradition, as well as those who are discovering its rich meaning.

OUR SERVICES

Our four distinct worship experiences are all centered on a common, scriptural-based message. As each minister preaches with a distinctive voice and approach to a common theme, so also do our four services each have distinct offerings.

All these services work together to meet the worship needs of a diverse, growing congregation. These services also are an arena of encouragement for members to offer their gifts in the praise of God. Children, youth and adults ring bells, sing, dance, and praise God. They read scripture. They serve as ushers. And, of course, they worship God in community with their church family. All are welcome!
