Adult Education.

The Adult Education Council oversees adult Sunday school; Disciple Bible Studies and Companions in Christ; short-term series including a Lenten study, Christian Conversations, basic Methodism classes and the Judy Matthews Lectureship Series.

Our mission is to help adults know and experience the Christian faith; claim and live the promises of God; and grow and serve as Christian disciples. This will be achieved by enlarging our members' grasp of the Bible and emphasizing Christian education as a fundamental part of the church through involvement in Sunday school, Bible studies, short-term studies, fellowship groups and more.

Chairperson: Don Cooper

Adult Sunday School:

Sunday school takes place each Sunday morning at 9:40 a.m.

Open Hearts

Music Room B

We began to share our journey of faith together in September 2001. Our name suggests our attitude about why we meet and our eagerness to welcome anyone. We treasure friendships and the opportunity to share our lives and our collective search for a deeper understanding of God. In our class, we explore a wide variety of topics using a lecture/discussion format. We value the willingness to ask honest, but sometimes uncomfortable questions, and we feel strengthened as Christians. Our goal is to live out our faith everyday and grow in our ability to serve others and one another in love. We often work together on service projects, but also meet for fun. Contact Edith and Joe Rando (281-499-8049 / jerando@aol.com) or Mel Mamula (291-438-8920 / mmel@comcast.net) for more information.
Pathfinders

Room 122

This group is the longest running adult class in our church. Some members have been part of this class for over 30 years. Our study topics always center around the Bible. Our most unique feature is the fellowship we enjoy together. Whether a part of the group since 1972 or recently joined, our members quickly see the love and friendship within this class. We have monthly covered dish suppers which cement our fellowship. All ages are welcome, however, most of our membership admits to being over 50. Ben Schrader is the lead teacher with Mary George and Sally McGinty serving as substitutes. Join us for various interpretations and discussions of scripture and become a part of this loving community. “When we are sick, hospitalized, grief stricken, need assistance of any kind, we know who will bring us soup (physical or spiritual) - PATHFINDERS.” Contact Sally McGinty at 281-491-0508 or sallymcginty@earthlink.net for more information.
