Dr. Lynne Settlemyre came to our church in June of 2005.
Prior to her appointment with us, she served churches in Longview,
Nederland, Nacogdoches, and Chester, Texas. Lynne received her Master of
Divinity degree in 1984 and her Doctor on Ministry degree in 1995, both
from Perkins School of Theology at SMU in Dallas. Lynne is married to
John Settlemyre, who is also an elder in the United Methodist Church.
Together they have two children, Virginia and Tommy.
Lynne's passion is connecting people with Christ and one another. She
loves everything about the church-even meetings!- because everything we do
is about strengthening our connection with God and each other in our
personal lives, in our community and in our world. She loves the variety
that being a pastor brings...from pastoral care to designing worship to
balancing the budget to reaching out in missions...she never knows what
the day will bring!
In her time away from the office, Lynne's favorite thing to do is spend
time with her children. She also likes to read mystery novels, crochet,
watch movies and go out to eat! |
