Rev. Barbara Robberson came to Texas via Oklahoma. Growing up as a PK (preacher's kid), Barbara is well acquainted with life in the church, especially the Baptist church where her father served as pastor until his death at age 94. Both brothers served as Baptist pastors as well. Following a career as biochemist, Barbara responded to God's call to ministry and attended seminary beginning in 1987.
Rev. Barbara Robberson joined the staff of First United Methodist Church in Missouri City on Nov. 1, 2001 after serving for over three years as the chaplain at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. Prior to chaplaincy, Barbara served as Associate Pastor at Bellaire UMC, Bear Creek UMC, and was student pastor at Boling UMC while attending seminary.
Her passion is art and music in liturgical design and strengthening Christian discipleship through spiritual formation. Part of her role at FUMC Missouri City is spiritual formation in the continued development of small group studies, contemplative worship, spiritual direction, and services of healing.
In her spare time, Barbara does oil and water color painting as well as designs and paints worship banners, reads, enjoys good movies, and loves to travel. Of course, her three children and two grandchildren also provide her much joy.
